Healing may not mean that you are symptom-free but rather, that you are living a life that is meaningful and productive for you. If you are experiencing persistent pain, we can work together to make changes to your routine and environment to make it easier for you to be active. By increasing your awareness of your body, you can make appropriate decisions. By adding in appropriate movement (gentle exercise), education about how the body handles pain, ways to manage the stress of having pain, improving sleep and prioritizing, you can take charge of your life again. Please reach out to me at 613-715-3550 or sarahgood.OT@gmail.com.
If you are struggling with anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress, it can be very challenging to motivate yourself to live the life you want to live. Working together to build up your social connections, exercise, awareness of your emotions and productive activities, you can regain a balance of activities in your life. We can work together using exposure to increase the activities and places that are part of your life, if appropriate. Sleep can also be address, including the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). Please reach out to me at 613-715-3550 or sarahgood.OT@gmail.com.
For Women with Reproductive Health or Pelvic Floor issues:
I have a special interest in women's health and pelvic floor pain (such as perimenopause, endometriosis, vulvodynia, vaginismus, painful menstruation, irritable bowel disease, interstitial cystitis) and the emotional impact that it can have on life. After working for more than 15 years with people with chronic pain and/or mental health issues, I began focusing my training in the new area of women's health occupational therapy. Please contact me to discuss how I can help you get back to doing what you love!
How do appointments work?
I am located in downtown Ottawa. Appointments typically happen in your home or community so that we are meeting where you are comfortable and where you will be living your life. I do provide telehealth appointments for people throughout Ontario. At this time, all my appointments are done using secure telehealth in order to allow for social distancing. I can be reached at 613-715-3550 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Please book appointments here.
