My name is Sarah Good and I am a Registered
Occupational Therapist in Ontario.  As such, I have training in physical and mental health.  I love the work that I do!  Each day, I have the honour of visiting people in their homes or communities and learning about their lives.  I get to hold people's stories and help them live within their own values.  Even though everyone that I work with is struggling with pain and challenging situations, I get to witness people taking control of their lives and making positive changes.  I firmly believe that each individual needs to figure out what matters to him or her and live within those values, even when life throws unexpected chronic conditions at our way.

I live and work in Ottawa, Ontario.  Both in my personal and professional life, I use nature and mindfulness meditation to bring calm and joy to each day!  I often incorporate a walk into treatment sessions or lead a meditation.

Please feel free to get in touch with me if you think I may be able to help you on the next step of your journey.  If you live outside of Ottawa, I am able to provide secure telehealth services throughout Ontario.

I have been working as an occupational therapist for more than 15 years.  I am a firm believer in life-long learning and engage in on-going professional development in areas including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, pain management and trauma.  I have
completed an intensive training program at the Ottawa Mindfulness Clinic in order to use mindfulness techniques to work with my clients.  I also teach a course at the Ottawa Mindfulness Clinic.  I use a recovery-oriented approach to psychosocial rehabilitation, including the use of a program called Action Over Inertia.

I
was featured on the blog The Art and Science of Everyday Living in August 2017.  To read the article, please visit Karen Gilbert's website.  I am
currently the Topic Editor for the Private Practice column in Occupational Therapy Now (published by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists).
